Image Export Tool

Updated on

Dexter Tracker's Image Export Tool provides a quick and easy solution for creating screenshots and reports.

In this section, we'll discuss the workflow and capabilities of the Image Export Tool.

Accessing the Image Export Tool

To access the Image Export Tool, select the "camera" icon from the toolbar on the right side of the map.

Utilizing the Image Export Tool

There are 2 different workflows for using the Image Export Tool.

  1. Image exports without exposures plotted
  2. Image exports with exposures plotted

Image Exports Without Exposures

If you simply want a screenshot of the storm tracks, you can export an .PNG image without exposures plotted.

Workflow:

  1. Track a storm
  2. Select the Image Export Tool icon
  3. Draw a square/rectangle of the area you wish to capture (see info box below for more details)
  4. Once your shape is complete, the image will automatically export to your computer

To draw your square or rectangle for the image capture, select a point on the map and click. Then drag the cursor (without clicking) and the selected area will illuminate in red (as shown in the image below). Once you have achieved the shape that you desire, simply click on the map to close the shape.

Image Exports With Exposures

Dexter's exposure overlay provides key details about the exact proximity of your exposures to a storm but also important data such as total insured value (TIV).

Utilizing the Image Export Tool with exposures plotted provides the option of creating a:

  • PNG Image
  • PDF Report

The PDF report will include a screenshot of the storm tracks and the key exposure data

The PNG image will simply be an image of the storm tracks and exposure plots only (no TIV, etc.).
