Selecting a Location

Updated on

Dexter Reports allows you to search for a location using any of the following:

  • Street Address
  • Zip Code
  • City
  • Latitudinal and Longitudinal Coordinate Pair
  • Public Land Survey System (PLSS)

To select a location, type the street address, zip code, city, or coordinate pair into the search bar.

If you are unsure of the exact address or coordinate pair, you may simply select the desired location directly on the map.

For more location search options, select the magnifying glass withing the location search bar.

To select a location by it's PLSS legal land description, select PLSS Location.

The State, County, Township, Range, and Section will populate in the drop down based on your selections.

Start by selecting the state and each subsequent field will only provide valid options based on the previous selection!

To make location selection easier, Athenium Analytics has built each field in the PLSS location search bar to be reactive to the previous selection.

For example, when searching for a location in Kansas, the county list will only include counties within Kansas, the township list will include townships within the previously selected county, the range list will only include ranges within the previously selected township, and the section list will only include sections within the previously selected range.

PLSS is only available for the following states:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming
